Christmas morning...hence the beanie! No way am I trying to fix this girls crazy hair for pictures!!!

I guess I will just leave the shopping to Daddy in the future! I had finished all of the Christmas shopping and then Kirk decided to take the kids out one Sat. and let them pick their own gifts...Halle picked up this giant set of princess barbies...and then Noah decided to upgrade what he had to a fancier gift too. (A lightening McQueen race track, costing a whopping $60. What!!!
It kills me to spend $15 dollars on toys. I try to stay w/in the $5-10 range. Oh, I guess we will try something new next year. The kids got way too much, and really only loved the 2 gifts daddy got them:)

We went into the city to Time Square and to see the big tree at Rockefeller plaza...I forgot my camera:( So I snapped these photos of the kids on our car ride home. It was so much fun, but freezing cold. Halle was an angel...and slept in the stroller for 2 hours. We had a great time.

The ZOO!!! We went to the zoo this morning, as a field trip w/the kids in Noah's Preschool class!

You would think the kids would be mesmerized by the zebras, tigers, giraffs, or polar bears...but no--my kids just like fish:)

Halle had her first cleaning at the Dentist!!! She was amazing. Best 2 1/2 yr old patient Aunt Ally has ever worked on:)

What???
I should have waited another week...and then it would almost be a complete year since my last post!
Now that's sad!!!
Time is going by so FAST (and slow)...total contradiction! I know.
I can't believe we are more than half way done with Kirk's residency!!! YAY. I am happy, but also nervous because now we have to make the decision of where we are going to live!!! Noah will be starting Kindergarten the month after we finish. We will see where Kirk finds a good match as an associate!!!
Noah and Halle are growing up so fast!
I love this age for both of them! However, I could do with a few less meltdowns from HALLE. I'm pretty sure that will never go away, seeing she is a GIRL:)

Noah is the best workout partner/trainer I could have. The other day on my jog, we were climbing the hill and Noah says to me, "Mom you are doing so good. You are almost there!!!" Now that's encouragement!!! Also, later on our jogging path he says, "jog faster mom--even faster". It did help when things were getting boring!

Halle is our little copy-cat. She watches EVERYTHING!! (I guess I better set a better example.) The other day we were having dinner and I saw her wipe her mouth and take a drink of her water right after I had finished doing both of those things!!! It is pretty hilarious. She is so sweet...I love her and Noah so much.

I am trying to upload pictures, but not having success! Could I have forgotten?

It has been forever since I posted some pics...
We are keeping busy.
This last July I started doing daycare . The first month I watched 2 kids. (Brothers). Ross--3 yrs. old and John Paul 6 months. Now I'm just watching John Paul.
It has been a good experience...every now and again Halle and Noah get attention deprived and turn extremely needy on me, but they have done really well having another baby in the house. Who knows--maybe it's time for #3.

Kirk is enjoying oral surgery. In January he will do 6 months of General Surgery rotation and will be very busy, so we are enjoying having him around as much as he is right now.

Noah is learning so much. He says the funniest things. One day we were driving in the car and he says to me..."Your papa Doug, and I'm papa Mike." (He's into pretending to be people)....and a few minutes later I listened to him ask Halle...."Halle, how's your day"....and then a second later, "Don't worry, it's ok." Who knows what goes on in that little mind. He's so cute.

Halle is full of personality--and mostly ATTITUDE!
Her days are full of frustration. Hopefully once she starts talking she won't feel so helpless.
Girls and boys are totally different, but at this point--equally difficult.

We love them though and are so blessed to have them in our life.

It is 5:00 and I can't believe both of my babies are still sleeping from their afternoon naps. I thought I would post a few pics while I had a minute.

These pictures were taken on our 1 year Anniversary of moving to NY. We picked up food from this little diner exactly one year to the date, so we thought it would be a fun tradition to go back there. Sometimes little diners have the best food.

I can't believe it's been over a year. I love everything about living here... I love the friends I've made and I love Tarrytown. It is so beautiful here. I have a feeling it will be hard when it's time to move!!!

This is so hillarious...
I was busy making cards for my niece and nephew's Bday, and I decided to check on Noah who was supposed to be taking a nap.
His bed was empty, so I immediately thought he went outside.
My heart started racing--I ran to the back door, but it was still locked. Then I came back to check his bed again and when I walked into the family room I saw his little feet barely showing out from under the pillows on the couch.

He looks so tall!...it must be the angle!

The other morning I was getting ready for our Primary Activity so I put Halle in her crib. She sat in there for seriously 1 hr and 45 min. just hanging out. She must have known I was kind of stressed and needed the time. She never even made a peep. It was unbelievable! No toys or bottle, just her blankies and her baby doll. How does that happen???
She has so much personality! I love how happy she is all the time.

Halle is cruising around holding on to things and standing for short periods of time. I'm sure she'll start walking some day soon and I'll regret ever wanting it to happen.

Noah is such a cute big brother. He is starting to be protective of Halle. When ever she is doing something that looks like she could get hurt he says, "be careful Halle." He walks in front of her if she is getting near stairs and says no, no Halle. I'm just glad I don't have to worry about protecting her from him every second of the day.

We are approaching our 1st year of living here in NY. Kirk is glad to be through his intern year. It has taken a little adjusting. We think about how carefree our lives use to be. It is definitley different now, but I am loving every second of it.

Last night our friends came over and Noah was showing off to his friend Claire (6 yrs. old).
He was talking her ear off, playing basketball, football, baseball, and running around like a mad man. He even pushed in his little toilet from the bathroom (don't worry--NEVER been used)...and kept on saying to her: "Poo poo in POTTY. We laughed so hard and Noah would say a few more things to her about it. Claire was getting shy from all the attention and hid under her jacket. Noah however, loved every second of the ATTENTION. It was hilarious!!!

I can't believe my little boy is 2! Time goes by so fast.
Noah was up at 5:30 just like every morning. I swear he has an alarm clock programmed in his mind so he can say goodbye to Kirk before he leaves to work. Since he was up we gave him a few presents to open. He loved his first baseball bat and ball...and his Thomas train. He even took Thomas w/him during his afternoon nap.
We had a very low key birthday this year...Just the four of us had dinner here at our place and then had Birthday cake for dessert.
Noah loved his baseball cake.

It was so hard to make the lines straight...and like a baseball. Trust me Kirk let me know just how to do them. (Several times)

These are pictures from our Christmas vacation!
I figured as long as I wasn't posting Christmas in February then we were safe!!!

I was worried before we left for Utah that it would fly by way too fast. Surprisingly it was the perfect amount of time for a vacation. (Of course it can always be LONGER) but at least it wasn't too short!
We had plans every day and night....and loved every minute of it!!!
Noah loved being w/his grandparents and cousins. It was fun to see everyone and can't wait for next Christmas. (That's when we'll be going back to Utah)....SAD--but the plane ride makes me realize that I'm okay with it!

We miss you all and had a great time while we were home!

Halle is at such a perfect stage right now. I love that she can sit up on her own but can't crawl, I'm sure that's just around the corner. (then the real work begins....)
She is so happy and content to be entertained by her bouncer, toys, or big brother.

She is holding her own bottle!!! (when I can get her to take one). She is so stubborn, I want to wean her but she's not making it easy for me!

Noah is so funny!!! Whenever I have the camera out and I tell him to do his pose, this is what he does....Kirk says he is already trying to show off his muscles in a pic. He totally came up with it on his own... It's HIS pose!

1st Prayer

Today Noah said his first official prayer!
Lately he has been waking up at about 5:30 every morning, just in time to say goodbye to Kirk before he leaves for work. Today he slept in until 6 and I went to get him out of his room, brought him into our room and he dove for the bed saying daddy…but Kirk was already gone.
We were laying there in bed for a few minutes when I heard Noah whispering. I looked up and saw him folding his arms, so I asked if he was saying a prayer. I asked him if he wanted me to help him and he repeated after me…(well at least the words he knew)…Fatha, tank you, day, mama, daddy, Hal-yee (Halle) gammy & papas’ then he mumbled a few more things in his own language, and finally--Amen!
I was so proud a few minutes later I called Kirk to give him the details. I love seeing him learn and grow. It is so incredible how influenced they are by everything around them.
Yesturday at church Kirk gave the opening prayer…and Noah was very attentive to it for once, at the very end a couple seconds after everyone you hear this deep grunt from Noah (in a very manly voice) AMEN…It was so cute!!! Everyone smiled & turned to see who it was, I think they were surprised to see little Noah.

We are going home for the Holidays! Yay!!!
I am so excited to spend Christmas at home in Salem UT. But I am mostly excited for Noah to play in the snow for the first time with his cousins, and help his Papa's feed the horses! He will absolutely love it. Kirk was lucky enough to get several days off, so I jumped on buying the tickets...

This wasn't a totally decked out costume!!! My cute little bumble bee is missing her antenas and wings! But lets face it...she definitely can't fly if she has a hard time sitting up on her own.

VISITORS

We had such a great week! My mom and dad came for a visit Sunday night until Thursday morning! Becca and Levi drove up Tuesday night and stayed untill Friday.
Saturday we had our friends over for Halloween, did a little trick-or-treating w/Noah & then watched the YANKEES game!!! I couldn't ask for a better week!

Here are some of the pics of the visit:
Noah stayed up late waiting for Papa and Grammy to get here!!! He was so happy to see them, & it didn't take long for him to get comfortable in Papa's arms......
Noah loves riding the train. He was on cloud 9 the entire trip. Everything he did was way more enthusiastic than usual! I was worried about him being sad once PAPA & GRAMMY left...

This is Grand Central Station (the building in the bottom left)... it is AMAZING...All of the trains are located in this gigantic station.

The city is way impressive just walking down the street, but even more beautiful up on top looking over everything.

The next 2 days it rained...one day we drove up to this farm w/my parents but didn't want to get muddy, so the day they left it was Sunny and we went w/Levi and Becca. Noah loved it!

Kirk just had to imagine that this black horse was Hewey!!! I think he was a little sad to leave his horse behind. This farm is good for him to reminisce...

There were so many animals...you name it, they had it!...I only chose to post 1, so here's the Donkey.

I don't know who was happier: Kirk or Noah! Noah was happy playing w/rocks on the ground, where Kirk got excited over every little thing.... He's such a cowboy!

Like I said...NOAH was content playing with Rocks!!!

And leaves....what would FALL be any way w/out playing in leaves.

But Noah was most content driving the tractor!!!....and I wished my dad was still here! They use to do outside chores together ALL the time! Too bad when we visit in December, the grass won't need mowing!!!It was so cute, he was trying to start the tractor with my car keys.

This is last years costumes...I don't think I'll be dressing up this year, but Halle is going to be a Bee & Noah is a Firefighter!

I love this time of year. The trees have been incredible out here! For Halloween Kirk and I invited our friends for soup and cinnamon rolls (a family tradition) it will be fun!!!

Kirk told me to have Noah wear this same pirate costume for Halloween this year!!! 1 thing guys don't know is that there is a difference between babies clothes 9 months and 18-24 mo. Duh!!! Hasn't he noticed our son getting bigger! I laughed & so did he when I pointed out this small fact.

Kirk is back down at Metropolitan Hospital in Manhattan. He loves it, and so do I!!! He gets off early a couple times each week, and has Thursdays off! We haven't done too much lately, Halle has been sick for a week and a half!!!...and I'm coming up on a week tomorrow!

I was talking to a friend the other day, saying how lucky I was that Noah has never gotten really hurt! I guess I spoke too soon.....
I learned that you aren't suppose to say those kinds of things out loud. The very next day Noah tripped getting out of the car (while I was busy vacuuming it) and scrapped his knee up pretty bad.
He was over it instantly as soon as I turned on the water, to clean his knee up, but I felt so bad...(I of course cried longer than he did)!!! He's such a tough little kid, & way coordinated, I can't believe this was the first time he has gotten hurt. Well, bad enough for a band-aid!
Lesson #1: Don't let your kids play in the car.
Lesson #2: Don't say anything bad OUT LOUD that you don't want to happen to you or your kids!!!

We enjoyed Monday at the beach in Connecticut, it was absolutely perfect-- And every day since has been extremely cold! This NY weather has been something else...
S o we went from swimming in the ocean to bundling our babies (beanies & sweaters) all in the same week. It is the craziest thing!
We go on this path around this lake...it is so pretty and really close to our house! I love all the trees, can't wait to see them change colors!

We spent half the day on the other side of this island, and the amazing sandy beach was on the opposite side (who knew)...by the time we came to the RIGHT side, we were ready to head home. So we didn't change into our suits, Noah and daddy just swam in their shorts!

He looks like he doesn't like the water in this pic, but trust me he was in Heaven!!!

Kirk's cousin Haley and her husband Jason came out with some friends to go to the U.S. open, so they came and stayed the night and hung out for a couple of days! We had so much fun.

We've been having so much fun lately.
Kirk has been doing Anesthesia for over a month now...it's the longest he's gone without doing Dentistry! Which feels pretty weird for him.
I'm loving it because he's been working on-call a lot (which means he sleeps at the hospital) but he has the next day off, which I LOVE...
The weather has been incredible lately. We've spent a lot of time out side, and I love my new jogging stroller. I would recommend an In Step double jogger to anyone with 2 babies, it's the BEST.

The picture above is on a road to this amazing beach in Connecticut....just 30 min. from our house. We are in a prime location 4 some pretty incredible vacationing!!

Noah with his girl friends sittin on the front of the fire truck...The firemen are really cute with the kids...Noah loved driving the big truck, but not as much as he loves driving Papa's boat!!

We just bought a Bumbo for Halle, and she loves it. She fell asleep on the table while we were eating dinner. It was so cute. Someone is one rich mama for this genius invention.... I LOVE IT.

The Latest...

So here are the Latest....of the past week.

1) Mommy Got a hair cut!

2) Halle got her ears peirced!

3) Kirk got me roses for our 3 yr. Anniversary. ( And I completely forgot).

4) Noah is now sleeping in a big boy bed...after climbing out of his 5 times today.

We'll see how he does in a bed 2night...I don't know how he's ever going to take a nap. I'm sure he'll just play.

Family Update

I have to say I wasn't homesick before we went to Utah. Now that I know how hard it is traveling with 2 babies, I'm extremely homesick!!! I'm afraid we won't go home as much as we want to... so we would love visitors.
Tonight we met up in Manhattan with Kirk's cousin Rachel, her husband Nate, and son Luke! It was so much fun to see them and have dinner. We walked down to time square and then the babies had enough, we had to call it a night! I love walking around the city, but the subways are tricky maneuvering a giant jogging stroller up and down the stairs.
Kirk is starting his anesthesia rounds at the Hospital which he loves. Yesterday he did a surgery (start to finish) as the anesthesiologist....all by himself. I'm so proud of him! He's such a determined and hard working guy.
Noah and Halle are doing great! I love being a mom more than anything. We are truly here on earth to have families....there is no greater happiness than having children--it's so amazing.

Becca drove her car out to DC w/3 of her friends & then on the way home we got on the same flight so she could help me with my kids.
Kirk and I were in traffic and made it 30 min. before the plane took off. It was so stressful, we just barely made it....but the kids did great on the flight.

Grandma J'net offered to watch Noah so I could go to Lake Powell with my family. (Kirk was back in NY).
I love my little Noah to death, but I have to say it was the most relaxing vacation I've had for the past 18 months.

My sister Becca just got married (that's why we went home)...and now she and her husband are living in DC. They came up for the weekend and we had a blast in the city and hanging out at our house together.

I am seriously in love with New York... I think its great...I could walk around forever out here if Halle and Noah would cooperate. It is so beautiful!

Kirk's friend Callis is visiting from Kentucky for the next week. It's the perfect time for a visitor, now Kirk will survive with out us!These pillars had lights in them covered by stained glass windows...they were really cool.

This bridge leads to an incredible house in the trees. I love the architecture out here.

Last weekend I drove to Manhattan all by myself, I was so proud. We had a blast walking around with Noah and Halle. It was all good at Central Park until Kirk let Noah run through the water fountain with his clothes on. I was so ticked. WHAT WAS HE THINKING?

Noah loved playing in the water but he was mad when he realized wet clothes were extremely uncomfortable....how was he to know that?....And that is why I was upset with Kirk.
You can't see Noah's expression very well, but trust me...it was not HAPPY!

Keeping Busy!

I know everyone says how much they love their kids...
I think being away from close friends and family really capitalizes how much we love our kids! It's amazing how much fun you can have hanging out with a 1 1/2 year old and a 3 month old. I am so thankful to be blessed with my beautiful Halle and sweet little Noah!
We are loving being here in NY. Tarrytown is a great village with SO much to do. I stay pretty busy (which helps me from getting homesick). This last week I've been painting my dining room table and hutch BLACK. I still have to finish, but I'm proud to say I jumped right in and have done a lot. Usually when I start little projects, I'm in them for a few months.
Kirk loves working at the hospital--and says it's a huge difference from owning your own practice. He's still adjusting to other people IN CHARGE! (Trust me...It's good for him).
The babies are doing just fine. Halle is back to sleeping through the night, and Noah is waking up between 7 and 7:30 instead of 5:30. We are extremely happy about this.
Today we are going to Manhattan to hang out with daddy while he's on call. We'll post some more pics later!
I still need to paint the drawers and 4 more chairs, but you can see what color they used to be!

I gave the boys haircuts and I'm so proud...I found a new job to pursue!

We're so sad to say goodbye to our friends. Noah is seriously in LOVE with Jordan and Katie...and Remington too.

One of Kirk's friends from the hospital took our couch apart (to get it in our house)....and then Kirk and I put it back together. Yay...I love these couches!

Well, a lot has happened in the last month. We flew to New York to look for a home, spent that weekend visiting family in Vegas...Lake Powell the following week--blessed Halle on June 7th and drove out here the next day...
After 5 days of traveling in the car with my 2 babies, I can honestly say I am HAPPY to be here in New York.
Noah loves his new home, he is into every closet and cupboard, and busy pushing toys around the house.
Halle is an angel (as usual). She sleeps ALL day and night. I'm waiting for the day when that is going to change, I'm not sure it will.
Kirk has been going to orientations in uptown Manhattan at the Metropolitan Hospital. He finds it interesting taking the train to Harlem and the Subway to the Hospital. He really likes the people that he works with.
As for me...I'm still adjusting to being a mother of two, and now in a strange new area. I love where we are living. Everyone has been extremely nice and welcoming to us, both at church and in our neighborhood.

We are renting the first floor! (For an arm and a leg)....I can't believe how expensive EVERYTHING is in NY.

Our hotel room was huge the first night on the road! These two cribs were set up in the middle of the room. It was cute...I had to take a picture. We of course didn't let Noah sleep this close to Halle. He can't be trusted.

I loved our trip to Lake Powell. It's a lot more work with 2 kids, but who can complain about Sunshine, water-skiing and being with family! We had a great time, and can't wait to vacation a couple times a year.

Johnson Update

I can't believe how fast time is going by. Halle is a month old...and we have a month until we move to New York!
I would say I'm excited, except I have no clue where we're moving to....we are going out in 2 weeks to find a house to rent! Once we go there & find something, I'm sure I'll be much more content.
Kirk is excited to work at the hospital. He's OBSESSED with all doctor shows. I swear that's all we watch. Scrubs, Grey's anatomy, House, The Dr's, ER--pretty sure we catch them all. I'm excited for him too.
Halle is such an incredible baby! I swear Heavenly Father's blessed me with her so that I'll have more kids....It's been so much fun having a newborn again.
It's been FOREVER since I've posted any pics...so there are a ton!

Noah means comfort, peace and REST--I think that's what Halle should mean. It's much more fitting for her!

So apparently it was to cold to carry on the tradition of having an easter egg hunt outside, but it's never to cold to ride the horses.... this is Noah's 1st time on a horse and he absolutely loved it!

After 12 hours of a "semi-easy" labor, our sweet little Hallie was born.
It seemed to have taken forever to progress, untill I was dialated to a 6 1/2....then within a half hour I was a 10 and ready to push....5 minutes later, we had a beautiful baby girl!

Hallie was born Monday morning at 3:38. She weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. and was 20 1/2 in.

I immediately felt a strong bond, and a sense of protection for Hallie. I guess because she's my little GIRL.

Isn't she precious....It's amazing how much LOVE you can feel for somebody else. We are so happy to have her in our family. Noah's a little curious to what's going on, but he seems to be handling things just fine. He's spent lots of time with his grandparents--which he loves.

Dr. Dewey ordered some perscriptions, and after waiting an hour for the medication to kick in we were able to take Hallie home! We love our new baby...

It's official, WE'RE MOVING TO NEW YORK! Kirk got accepted just yesterday to New York Medical College in Manhattan...He'll start his residency July 1st.

We are going to miss our friends and family, but we are excited for our new ADVENTURE. The farthest I've lived from home is Lehi, so it will definitely be a different experience for me.

We got family pictures taken a few weeks ago and the girl had us do some pretty unusual poses...I felt a little weird with some of her ideas, but these were the best pictures we were able to get.

Noah is turning 1 on Wednesday...I can't believe how fast this year has gone by! He is walking all over, and he won't let you hold his hand. He's learning to be independent at a very young age.

Noah was throwing the biggest fit when I tried to put his hat on....so Kirk thought if he wore his beanie, Noah would want to wear his too.
It worked like a charm, as soon as Kirk put his hat on--Noah gave up the fight.

Kirk's applying to go back to Oral Surgery, so he took me with him to Philadelphia.
This weekend he interviews at New York! But I don't get to go along! Sad...

Back at the hotel, we couldn't keep Noah out of the bathroom.
All of a sudden, I couldn't find him and I came into the bathroom to find him HERE in the shower!
I can't believe he didn't hurt himself crawling into the tub!

Kirk went on a Horseback riding trip with both our dads and a bunch of guy friends...It's too bad he missed Noah as an adorable PIRATE....We went to our ward trunk or treat, and then a party at Richard and Allison's. It was a fun Halloween.
